Job Description

This role supports attorneys throughout all phases of complex construction-related disputes. The position involves managing case materials, preparing legal documents, coordinating with internal teams, and assisting with trial preparation.

Primary Duties:

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of federal and state court practices, including arbitration procedures and electronic filing standards across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Handle a wide range of litigation support tasks such as scheduling hearings, tracking deadlines, and maintaining accurate calendars for case-related events.
  • Draft standard legal filings-including appearances, procedural motions, deposition notices, and subpoenas-with careful attention to format and jurisdictional rules.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files, oversee document repositories, and assemble detailed binders for depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Conduct targeted online research using legal databases and resources to gather case law, rulings, and supporting authorities.
  • Assist with all aspects of document production, including redaction, duplication, and Bates stamping.
  • Perform cite-checking for briefs and memoranda to ensure accuracy in citations, references, and supporting exhibits.
  • Review, categorize, and index legal documents and exhibits to support case strategy and trial preparation.
  • Support attorneys during deposition preparation by creating witness files and managing related logistics.
  • Apply advanced eDiscovery skills, including drafting ESI guidelines, coordinating with discovery teams, maintaining review platforms such as Relativity, tagging documents, and overseeing production workflows.
  • Maintain deposition databases and ensure transcripts, exhibits, and related materials are consistently updated and accessible.
  • Assist in assembling trial exhibits, designations, and pre-trial/post-trial materials.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with attorneys, staff, and external contacts while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
  • Manage litigation tasks from case opening through appeal, overseeing document production, deposition coordination, and trial logistics.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while meeting changing deadlines and priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with paralegal certification preferred; degrees in Paralegal Studies are also encouraged.
  • At least 5 years of litigation paralegal experience within a law firm or corporate legal team.
  • Strong proofreading skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of litigation processes, legal terminology, and court rules.
  • Ability to support all stages of litigation from pre-trial through post-trial.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities with a proactive approach to case management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support attorneys and stakeholders professionally.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed for deadlines or trial schedules.
